PPP leader Fauzia Wahab passes away
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Fauzia Wahab passed away on Sunday in a private hospital of Karachi.
PPP leader Waqar Mehdi officially announced her death.
Wahab was admitted in a private hospital on May 27 due to her sudden illness. She was under treatment since then. She had undergone three operations in that time duration.
Information Minister Sindh Sharjeel Memon announced that Wahab’s funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow after the afternoon prayers at DHA’s Sultan Masjid in Karachi.
Muttaihida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Ghouri said that negligence of doctors resulted in Wahab’s death.
PPP leader Sharmila Farooqi said that investigations of Wahab’s death should be made.
President Asif Ali Zardari also  showed his concern on the PPP leader’s death.
The PPP has announced to abandon all its political activities for 10 days.
In his condolence message, President Asif Ali Zardari paid great tributes to Wahab’s services for the party saying that she was a steadfast loyalist of the party who braved difficult situations.
Her services to the party would be long remembered. She died while fighting to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions, the president said.
