Pakistan improved relations with neighbours: Khar
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Thursday said that Pakistan s bilateral relations with the neighbours and other countries improved during the last four years of this democratic government.She was speaking at a ceremony to celebrate birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Christmas here at Foreign Office, which was attended by a large number of diplomats of different countries.
She said that Pakistan s bilateral relations with the neighbours and other countries improved during the last four years of this democratic government.She said Pakistan enhanced its relations especially with Kabulto ensure peace and security in the region. 'Our bilateral relations with the key partners and allies haveimproved, our strategic relationships have deepened, we have beensuccessfully elected to the UN Security Council, to the UN HumanRights Council by getting 171 votes out of the total of 192,' sheadded. The Foreign Minister said recently Pakistan successfully hosted the D8 summit.
She especially mentioned improvement in Pak-India relations and said that conducive atmosphere is present to settle all the issues through peaceful negotiations. Pakistan, she said, had also strategic relations with Iran, China and other neighbouring countries that had improved in the last four years. She said, 'We are proud of having qualitatively worked with our Afghan brothers to heal wounds and open avenues of cooperation.'The Foreign Minister said Kabul continues to be the most important capital in the world for Pakistan. She said although Pakistan has not been a favourite country for the diplomats, but still with their presence in Islamabad,Pakistan has been able to improve and strengthen its bilateral relations with all the countries.
